Back in the USA

I apologize for the lack of posts, but I just moved from Saigon to Denver for summer vacation and I am trying to make the transition to life in America. People sure have a lot here! But strangely, they don’t seem to be any happier than the Saigonese. Anyway, it’s nice to be with my family again.

My wife is an anti-haiku god person. In fact, she is anti-anything named “God.” She strongly disbelieves that there is a separate supreme “He” who does all those things that “He” supposedly does; like plan, create, help, know, act, give, feel, whatever. She asks me why I don’t name reality “Energy” or something else besides “God,” which reminds her of the personal “God” most people seem to believe in. Well, I answer that “God” is the name usually given to Ultimate Reality, so if we’re talking about ultimate reality, we should use the word “God” so everyone will be on the same page. And then hopefully the people who believe that the separate, personal male/positive/He/E side of ultimate reality is actually God Itself, will correct their mistake, and pay more attention to the feminine side of God (as well as the transcendent form of God). Not recognizing matter/earth/Gaia as an equally important manifestation of true God would surely lead to a distorted view of the universe and self, which surely leads to our present global predicament.

Semantics, semantics! Words cannot express.

EXCELLENT connection made between terms God/Reality/Energy etc. Semantics can be a drag. Unfortunately we are limited by language when trying to express the inexpressible.
